IBEW Local Union 320 is committed to improving the lives of our rank and file members through the power of collective bargaining and our never-ending commitment to make sure that those in the legislative and political community understand our issues and stand behind our members. We support political and legislative leaders who stand with us to secure a prosperous future for our members, and we enthusiastically oppose those who are against us.
Together, our voices must be heard by our elected officials. By contacting your legislative representatives, you are doing your part to ensure that our voices are heard.

On September 23, 2025, IBEW Local 320 was part of a press conference to launch the Protect Our Power Coalition, consisting of business, labor and community leaders. We stand united with our coalition to defend affordable, reliable energy in the Hudson Valley. The Hudson Valley Power Authority's plan to seize Central Hudson threatens Union jobs, raises bills and puts our communities at risk.

We received union support from Long Island all the way up to the Finger Lakes. We want to thank our IBEW International Representative Frank Muia, the Chairman of the NYS Utility Labor Council, IBEW Locals 10, 97, 363, 503, 1049, 1249 for standing with us in opposition of HVPA.

Protect Our Power Coalition against HVPA

As you may be aware, state lawmakers are considering legislation that would allow the government to take over our local electric and gas utility. This proposal would shift billions of dollars in cost onto taxpayers and ratepayers while putting reliability, service, and future investment at risk.

Community voices matter — and legislators are actively listening as they shape their priorities for the upcoming session. One of the most effective ways to make your voice heard is by contacting your local elected officials and urging them to oppose the proposed government takeover.

To make this easy, our coalition has launched a simple letter-writing tool that identifies your representatives and sends a message on your behalf in less than two minutes. Please take a moment to speak up and share your concerns:

Take Action: Protect Our Power NY

We encourage you to also forward this message to neighbors, colleagues, and community groups who may be impacted. Together, we can ensure our elected leaders hear directly from the communities they represent.
